Super Disappointing
Typically I get a full Hamachi to make sashimi with for Christmas, but this year my go to supplier had nothing available. I found Oceanside seafood online, and figured I’d give it a shot. Well, I will never order anything here again. For the price, I got 3 pieces of the saddest looking hamachi filets, 2 of them were barely 3/4” thick, and none of them had meat from the belly side. About 25% of each filet was the dark red meat from the blood spot, and should have been trimmed prior. Total waste of money, if you’re used to fresh/quality stay away, and they should be embarrassed for selling these as sashimi quality.
Absolute BEST
I live on the East Coast so flash frozen, home delivery of Yellowtail is my only option. I have tried 3-4 purveyors and Oceanside is by far - and consistently - the best. My wife and I have gotten to the point where we always have a 1lb block in our freezer for any occasion!!
